The winner of the 11th January 2021 Youth councilor elections in Namugongo Nabukalu Phiona is calling on the NRM party executive to support her meet her huge medical bills.
Nabukalu aged 29 was seriously beaten by un known people on the day of the election after she was announced winner.
She sustained serious head, ear, eye injuries and now paralyzing her left side of the body.
Narrating her story, Nabukalu wearing her green with a red flowered dress lost her sense for over a week as she was receiving treatment in hospital until she was discharged a few weeks back.
She was dropped off by her friend after a tea meet at Zebra point following a long day without any meal but working hard ferrying voters to and from the voting points.
To Nabukalu, the tea meet acted as a celebration for her win as a female councilor for Namugongo but satan joined in the end by bring sadness before the jubilations ended.
However, Serunjoji Henry the chairman LC1 Namugongo Nsawo zone who also doubles as the chairman Luwero triangle civilian war veterans in Namugongo together with his wife Magaret Serunjoji, Nabukalu’s parents say, ”that they can no longer hold the medical bills since they are no longer actively working.”
The parents who has so far sent close to UGX.4M confirm that to have Nabukalu back to her normal health status, they need over UGX.37M which they cannot afford to raise at the moment.
Nabukalu who contested on the NRM ticket will be serving on the council for her second representing female youth in Namugongo.
