Maracha east mp, James Acidri has asked population in west Nile especially the youth to get involved in planting of trees in an effort to protect the environment
Acidri also asked the communities to devise energy saving techniques to conserve energy by using less charcoal or fire wood, avoid un necessary destruction of wet land due to farming practices and irresponsible disposal of non degradable staff like plastic bottles and polythene bags.
He says that the people in the region have intensified brick making activity which he says is very good, however the people must be conscious of degradation and should plan ahead.
He says that Vast areas of land in northern Uganda have been left without any vegetation cover and the national park has been affected which will in turn affect the wild life which is a source of national income.
