MPs Establish a Forum to Protect Land Rights.

A section of the Members of Parliament has decided to establish a forum for the Uganda Parliamentarians Land Management Forum aimed at finding solutions to the challenges of land faced by Ugandans.

These led by the Kiboga district woman member of parliament Christine Nakimwero Kaaya say that they are going to review the land policies to streamline the land matters in the country as well as establishing an information center where they will receive information from different constituencies across the country to help Ugandans who are being evicted from their land.

Other members including Busujju county MP David Lukyamuzi Kalwanga, Asinansi Nyakato the Hoima Oil city woman MP and Bingi Patrick Nyanzi the Butemba county MP welcomed the move noting that many Ugandans are suffering in courts of law due to financial constraints without anyone giving them a hand.

Acayo Gloria from food rights alliance who represented the civil society has tasked the newly formed Land Management Forum to fast track the policies regarding land management to help Ugandans overcome the challenges of land conflict.
