The three days of mourning start today Sunday and will end on Tuesday. The government will also compensate the injured and the families of the dead.
According to a communication from the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, President Museveni directed that all the families of the 22 people who perished be compensated with 5 million each while those who are critically injured be supported with 3 million shillings each.
The statement further reads that from Sunday to Tuesday, all flags in the country will fly at half mast.
Rugunda also tasked traffic police officers to step up their role to ensure that only vehicles that are roadworthy are on the road and speed limits must be maintained.
