STORY( PARLIAMENT SENT A TEAMOF MPS IN GULU TO CHECK ON THE STATUTUS OF THEIR COLLEAGUES WHO WERE ARRESTED IN ARUA
By Our reporter

Parliament has sent a team of six-mps to Gulu for a fact finding
mission on the status of the arrested and detained Members of Parliament
as they face trial today 16th August 2018.

This was after the First Deputy Prime Minister Gen Moses Ali, told
parliament that the mps were not tortured as alleged on social media,

but kyadondo east mp Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu was flown to Gulu
Military Hospital for medical care and was now okay.

Moses Ali further informed Parliament that the other four MPs will
appear before the chief magistrate’s court in Gulu and their files
are being processed.

However the MPs were not satisfied with moses Ali’s explanation
that their colleagues were not tortured and the fact that Mityana
municipality Francis Zaake’s name was not on the list of the names the
prime minister, had mentioned.

This prompted the government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa to suggest for
a team to go to Gulu to ascertain the situation of their
colleagues.

Moses Ali also said that the other mps including Paul Mwiru ,
Gerald karuhanga and former MP Michael Mabike and Wadri Kasiano will
appear before the chief magistrates court tomorrow.

The team will be headed by Amolatar Woman MP Doreen Amule.

The Speaker Rebecca Kadaga instructed the team to travel immediately,
so they are in Gulu by tomorrow.
