KCCA TO Conduct Mass COVID19 Testing & Vaccination
The KCCA executive director Dorothy Kisaka reveals plans by the authority to conduct mass covid19 testing and vaccination among city residents.
According to Kisaka, the high rising numbers of covid19 among people living and working in Kampala has pushed the authority and ministry of health to consider carrying out the exercise which will be set at lower levels to easily reach the communities.
The volunterly exercise targeting over 3 million people will commence after the lockdown is lifted by the president.
In the first vaccination phase, over 800,000 people were administered with the first shot and not more than 500,000 got their second shot with many still waiting on to take the second and last shot.
With the secoNd batch of vaccines already in the country, priority will be given to frontline workers and those who took the first shot.
However, scientists confirm that taking full vaccination does not guarantee anyone full immunity.
