Over 50 MPs Got Covid-19 from TZ

The  Parliament has been hit by panic after over 50 MPs who returned  from Arusha where they spent two weeks in the East African Community Parliamentary games tested positive for the covid-19

Over 260 MPs and staff of Parliament traveled to Arusha for the games which were concluded on December 12. Out of the Tests were conducted in Arusha and Uganda, the spokesperson of parliament Chris Obore has confirmed that over 50 MPs and Staff tested positive.

But Obore allayed fears of the public that all cases are asymptomatic and being managed by the Ministry of Health and parliament health team at their home.

He noted that games were too interactive in nature to strictly observe SOPs given the fact that In Tanzania the population doesn’t wear masks.

It reported that all positive MPs have been banned from accessing parliament and today’s sitting lasted for only 10 minutes as the speaker reported a bad situation in the August assembly.
